Three more Israeli hostages to be released

They’ll see their families tomorrow after more than 400 days

Hamas has released the names of three more hostages it plans to release this weekend. It had been facing a resumption of the Israeli military offensive if the release programme had faltered.

Here are some details of the three men who’ve been held since the start of the conflict in October 2023. They all lived at Kibbutz Nir Oz.

Sasha Troufanov, 29, worked as an engineer in Amazon’s cloud division. His family immigrated to Israel from the Soviet Union 25 years ago. On October 7th, Sasha was kidnapped from his home along with his mother, grandmother and girlfriend who were all released in November. His father Vitaly was killed during the attack.

Iair Horn is 46 and was born in Argentina but relocated to Israel. He managed the kibbutz pub. On October 7th, Iair was kidnapped from his home along with his brother Eitan. Eitan is not part of the current phase of the hostage deal.

Sagui Dekel Chen, who is a 26 and an American citizen. On October 7th, Sagui was working in the kibbutz’s machine shop when the attack began. He was taken prisoner after confronting the terrorists. Two months later, his wife Avital gave birth to their third daughter, whom he has never met.
