Man Utd moved three points clear in second place in the WSL after a deserved 1-0 win at Tottenham to extend their winning league run to five games.
Elisabeth Terland coolly volleyed Jayde Riviere’s cross inside the near post with less than six minutes played as Man Utd flew out of the blocks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They could have been further ahead by the break after Ella Toone’s audacious long-ranger kissed the post on its way behind, but even with a second-half Spurs resurgence the visitors were never seriously troubled.

The hosts came into the game on a four-match unbeaten league run themselves, but rarely threatened to extend it to a fifth.
Beth England nodded over and Jessica Naz stung Phallon Tullis-Joyce’s palms in the best of Spurs’ few chances, as Man Utd comfortably saw out a ninth clean sheet from 13 WSL games this season.
After Man City’s slip-up at home to Arsenal earlier on Sunday, Marc Skinner’s side move a point further ahead of the chasing pack, but still sit seven points off Chelsea after their late win at Aston Villa earlier in the day.
