Pro-Palestine protest organiser denies breaching police conditions during rally

The organiser of a pro-Palestine rally in central London has denied breaching protest conditions.

Benjamin Jamal, 61, of Kingston upon Thames, pleaded not guilty to two counts of inciting a public assembly participant to breach the conditions during the demonstration on January 18.

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) protest was limited to a designated area in Whitehall but demonstrators allegedly entered an area they were not meant to, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard on Friday.

Jamal also denied one count of failing to comply with the condition as organiser of the rally.

The defendant is one of 12 people who were charged in relation to the protest, the Metropolitan Police said.

He was granted unconditional bail with a three-day trial to take place at the same court from July 23rd.
