A man in his 30s has died following a collision between two pedestrians and a car.

Another person was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A39 Quantock Road in Bridgwater, Somerset, at around 23:30 GMT on Sunday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Avon and Somerset Police said his next of kin had been informed and will be offered support from specialist officers.

“Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” added a spokesperson for the force.

Anyone who saw the collision or who may have relevant footage of the events leading up to it is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police.
