A horse’s head ornament, a bag full of medication and a giant Bible are among stolen items police want to reunite with their owners.

Police believe the objects may have been taken from properties and outbuildings in Somerset and Devon, including in the Blackdown Hills.

The items have been added to an online gallery, external as officers try to find their rightful owners.

Two men charged with multiple burglaries have already appeared in court and pleaded not guilty while a third is still to enter a plea, police said.

Det Sgt Cobb said: “We have already identified some of the hundreds of items, so I’d urge anyone who has suffered a burglary to look through the gallery.

“It’s important for our ongoing investigation to identify the rightful owners of as many items as possible.”

A man in a blue striped shirt, blue tie and dark trousers stands next to a table with various stolen items on it. There is a sculpture of a horse's head, a large hard-backed bible, a sign saying Quantock Hills and a hessian bag full of various packets of medication.

Anybody who wants to claim stolen goods will need to be able to prove ownership.
