A man in his 40s has been killed in a car crash on a rural lane.

Emergency services were called to Red Lane in Churchford, Somerset, at about 12:05 GMT on Sunday morning.

The driver of a white Peugeot 3008 was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Officers believe the car was travelling from the direction of Blagdon Hill towards Churchinford when the incident happened, and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The road reopened at about 11:30 GMT.
