A war veteran living in Weston-super-Mare has been celebrating his 107th birthday, external, according to the Weston Mercury. Arthur Steel was a radio operator and navigator in the RAF during World War Two.
“Swindon outblooms Bath and Yeovil” says the Swindon Advertiser, as the town takes the RHS in Bloom “best of the best” title, external.
And a group of women have been attending a school reunion – 72 years after they finished their education, external at Bristol East Secondary Commercial School. The reunions began after an appeal in the Bristol Post during the 1980s.

“More than rugby.” This picture by Gloucester Rugby, external captures the Cherry & Whites with the Leicester Team, accompanied by Ed Slater’s children, before their match at the weekend. Mr Slater used to play for both teams. He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2022.
