Stuart Hickman got the radio bug early, and loved listening to the radio while growing up. As a teenager he volunteered at a hospital radio station before becoming an in-store DJ at the Virgin Megastore in Birmingham. He joined Wolverhampton’s Beacon Radio in the late 80’s and after many years of broadcasting to his home city, went on to work at radio stations around the country including Worcester, Leicestershire, Tamworth, Ludlow, Hereford, Shropshire & Mid Wales.
When he’s not on the air, Stuart listens to a lot of music and loves to read. His favourite author is Tony Hillerman and has many favourite musicians and bands but his all-time favourite is Bruce Springsteen. He also likes to travel with California & Greece being two of his favourite places to visit. Football is another passion and over the years Stuart has suffered the trials and tribulations of most football fans as he’s followed his home city team Wolves up and down the divisions.
After many years of hosting Breakfast shows Stuart is looking forward to getting up early and waking up North Somerset, an area that he loves and knows well from many very happy family holidays when he was young.
