Apart from my Day Job and Family life Radio has been a bit more than a hobby for me.
I have a real passion for music and really enjoy the radio.
I started Tech-oping at Beacon Radio on Saturday nights back in early 87.
I left Beacon to take up Nightclub work as there was far more money involved.
At the same time, I also took up a weekly DJ Residency at The Winking Frog in Wedges Mills, Cannock, (now called The Chase Gate) on Wednesday Nights – Were you there in the late ’80s?
I kept my hand in radio in when I could and I presented on WCR AM in Wolverhampton on Its first-ever day of broadcast back in June 89. I remember it being a big event as it was the first Community Radio Station to appear in the area.
During the 90’s I presented shows on Walsall Hospital Radio and was Invited to present shows on several Restricted Service Licence’s ( RSL’s ) in Walsall with a station called Bridge FM which later was called The Bridge in 2000.
This lead to opportunities presenting back in Commercial Radio (ILR) in Somerset firstly, on BCR FM, based in Bridgwater and also Quaywest FM based in Minehead.
In 2006, I was presenting overnights on the MNA’s group of stations, Telford FM, The Wyre & The Severn.
I was also a Technical operator at The Wolf in Wolverhampton, mainly at the weekends for 4 years working on many Live shows such as Bank’s Sport On Tour & Hit 40 UK.
In 2011, I was invited back to WCR FM in Wolverhampton to present Wolverhampton’s Greatest Hits which I presented for 8 and a half years.
More recently I took the show to Cannock Chase Radio.
I also made a return to the airwaves down in Somerset on ‘Pulse’ based in Cheddar during 2016.
