A new FM radio station covering the North Somerset area is gearing up for its full-time launch.

DH1 (Digital Hits One) applied to Ofcom for an FM radio licence covering the North Somerset region in December 2018 and today (12th May 2020) received the news from the UK broadcast regulator OFCOM that the application had been successful.

The DH1 team are promising a truly LOCAL radio service, with local information, travel updates, along with regular announcements of local events in and around the area of North Somerset combined with great music 24 hours a day.

The DH1 team would like to thank all those who have worked to ensure we brought LOCAL radio back to North Somerset and hope to launch the service in the coming months subject to the current COVID-19 restriction.

A special thank you is given to John Penrose MP (Weston-super-Mare Constituency) and James Heappey MP (Wells Constituency) for supporting our application.

A further press release will be published once final clarification has been agreed regarding the stations launch date and its awarded FM frequency.
